1806 Draped Bust Half Cent Penny Varieties - Differences and Comparison
There were a few major varieties of the 1806 Draped Bust Half Cent (Penny). Two varieties deal with the size of the number "6" in the 1806 date on the obverse of the coin. The small "6" had some spacing between the liberty head bust whereas the large "6" can be easily identified by how it touches and protrudes into the bust of the liberty head on the obverse of the coin. The difference between the small 6 vs large 6 is depicted above in the example comparison image of the coins.

There were also two different varieties of the reverse of the coin. One featured stems on the wreath while the other had no stems. Only the small "6" variety had a "stemless" variety. The stemless variety also had much larger numbers in the 1/200 fractional with a pointed "1" whereas the variety with stems had smaller numbers and a blunt "1".
