1810 Capped Bust $5 Gold Half Eagle Varieties
There are a number of major varieties of the 1810 Capped Bust $5 Gold Half Eagle. Some are much rarer and more valuable than others - but they are easy to identify. The two major varieties are the Small Date vs Large Date on the obverse of the coin. One variety has smaller numbers in the 1810 date while the other had larger numbers. The difference between them can be seen above in the example comparison image - note the spacing between the "1" and "0" and also how the serifs on the number "1" differ for each date.

Both the small date and large date also had variations on the reverse of the coin as well. The small date either had a small "5" or tall "5" (no large "5") on the reverse of the coin - whereas the large date had either a small "5" or large "5" (no tall "5"). The differences between the Small 5 vs Large 5 vs Tall 5 can be seen below in the example comparison image. Note how the Small "5" was the smallest and narrowest of the varieties. The Large "5" was wider and larger - and the Tall "5" was larger but narrower than the large one - and the bottom of the Tall "5" nearly touches the rim of the coin (source of example image is courtesy of Heritage Auction Galleries):
