There were two major varieties of the 1854-O $10 Gold Liberty Head Eagle. The variety depicted above is the Small Date variety - which features smaller numbers in the 1854 date on the front of the coin. The other variety features the Large Date with much larger and taller numbers. The difference between the Small Date vs Large Date is depicted below in the example comparison image. Note how the number "1" in the large date is so large that it nearly touches the bottom of the liberty bust:
