The 2015 Bess Truman First Spouse half ounce gold coin was produced in two types. There was the brilliant uncirculated gold bullion coin (depicted above) and the mirror-like gold proof coin (depicted below). Both $10 denomination coins bear the West Point "W" mintmark and contain 1/2oz of fine gold. The obverse of the coin depicts the portrait of Bess Truman - the spouse of President Harry S. Truman. The reverse depicts the wheel of a locomotive train moving on the railroad - which represents her support for husband Harry Truman in 1948 on the whistle stop trip during his campaign for re-election as US President.
