This is a replica of the 1802 Draped Bust Heraldic Eagle Half Dollar that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The Draped Bust Half Dollars were minted from 1796 to 1807. They displayed a lettered edge that stated: FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR. The 1802 Half was issued by the Philadelphia Mint but only 29,890 coins were minted and all of the coins were minted in Philadelphia.
