This item is a 1836 Gobrecht Dollar Exonumia (non-standard issue) Fantasy Coin. It is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as the coin has a reeded edge. In addition, the letters C. and F. are omitted from the sides of the name GOBRECHT, AND the name is below the base. Finally, the die alignment of obverse to reverse is version III (head of Liberty opposite N or ONE, eagle flying level). Standard issue dollars of this design in 1836 were issued by the Philadelphia Mint but displayed a plain edge and the die alignment was either Version I (head of Liberty opposite DO of DOLLAR, eagle flying upward) or Version IV (head of Liberty opposite F of OF, eagle flying level). Finally, the name was displayed ON the base (NOT below) and was C. GOBRECHT F. (F is the abbreviation of the Latin word Fecit meaning 'made it' in English. The coin is made of copper with silver plating. It weighs 26.66+/- grams and measures 38.5+/- millimeters in diameter. All offers considered. PayPal ONLY PLEASE.
