USA Coin Book Item ID Number:
1892-S very choice BU PCGS MS63+++ Liberty half eagle $5 gold piece, TOP OF GRADE, very scarce date. here's a much scarcer date with a very low population of 26 in MS63 and only 7 higher, all MS64's. there have only been 260 graded in all grades combined by PCGS in the past thirty years, now that's scarce. fully original golden orange luster and fully struck, but what sets this one apart from the rest is it looks like a MS65 and we think the original owners sent this in for grading because they thought they would get it back in gem 65 condition. what a shock it must have been to open the package and see the grade! try to find another like it, either MS63 OR 64- they just aren't available. compare the rarity and value in this coin to any 1909-S VDB gem bu red cent, 1916 quarter or even 1893-S Morgan dollar and you'll see why this series is ripe for the picking. if you love strike, luster and eye appeal all rolled into one, this is the coin for you at any price. the next grade up costs more than twice as much so maybe this is a possible candidate for a re-grade. please see the photos- that is the exact coin you will receive.
