Content: This is the 23rd volume in a series on Greek Coins which the British Museum began publishing in 1873. It was written by Warwick Wroth, Senior Assistant in the British Museum’s Department of Coins and Medals. This volume was published in 1964 (Arnaldo Forni, Editore; Bologna) and, at the end, it has 37 plates with black-and-white photos and a map. The book has an 88 page Preface/Introduction, a 254 page Catalogue of Coins, Indices titled Kings and Dynasts; Geographical; Types; Symbols and Adjuncts; Countermarks; Remarkable Inscriptions. The book ends with the following Tables: List of Parthian kings, with dates; List of the regal titles found on Parthian coins; The Parthian months; Years of the Seleucid Era with the corresponding years of the Christian Era; Conversion of English inches into millimetres and the Measures of Mionnet’s scale (19th century scale used to describe the size of coins, medallions, and similar flat round objects, published as an illustration by the French numismatist T. E. Mionnet in 1805).
Physical description and condition: It is a hardcover book with a burgundy cover. It measures 9&7/16 inches by 6&11/16 inches by 1&6/16 inches.There is some slight yellowing of page margins. All pages are intact and unmarked. The binding is secure. The book is in very good shape.
