John F. Kennedy 100mm medallion, designed by Dottore Constantino Affer, struck by A. E. Lorioli Fratelli of Italy, was commissioned by T. E. Bileski of Canada in 1965.
The obverse side of each medallion depicts an extremely high relief of JFK's portrait and is inscribed "John Fitzgerald Kennedy-1917-1963" and "Italy" and "Affer". The reverse has a rendition of the Presidential Seal framed by a ring of 50 stars representing the 50 states of the union at the time of his term and the inscriptions,"President of the United States of America" and "Inaugurated January 20th, 1961".
The 100mm medallion has an oxidized silver-plated matte finish on bronze planchet, the standard coin medium used by A.E. Lorioli Fratelli for 100mm and less, and weighs approximately 536 grams.
