This Pope John XXIII and his Coat of Arms was designed and struck by the eminent A.E. Lorioli Fratelli of Milano, Italy in circa 1965.
The obverse side depicts an extremely high relief of the Pope's profile and is inscribed "JOHANNES XIII" and "PONT. MAXIMUS".
The reverse depicts his official Coat of Arms which is inscribed"1958 - 1963".
This 50mm medallion has an oxidized silver-plated matte finish on brass planchet, the standard coin medium used by A.E. Lorioli Fratelli for 50mm and less, and weighs approximately 70 grams.
