One major variety of the 1797 Draped Bust Silver Dollar features an obverse design with 10 stars on the left side of the coin and 6 stars on the right side. The reverse of the coin also features larger letters. (All coins of this variety features large letters.)

There were two major varieties for the obverse design. One variety features 9 stars on the left and 7 on the right. The other variety features 10 stars on the left and 6 on the right.
