One major variety of the 1856 Large Indian Princess Head Gold Dollar features a Slanted "5" in the 1856 date on the reverse of the coin. There were two different style varieties for the "5" in the date. The "Upright 5" features a "5" aligned vertically straight on the left side. The other variety is the "Slanted 5" in which the left side of the "5" is slanted at an angle.
