What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):

There were two major varieties of the 1817 Coronet Head Large Cent (Penny). One variety featured 13 stars along the rim of the obverse of the coin while the other had 15 stars instead. The difference between the two varieties is depicted above in the example comparison image of both coins.
