A rare campaign medal from the pre civil war presidential election of 1856 for the last Whig party candidate, and former 13th president of the United States, Millard Fillmore. On the obverse is the slogan "FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY" campaigning to keep the North & South together. The medal is 28mm in diameter and holed for suspension. The medal has what appears to be intentional scratches on the obverse in the fields. Pictures are taken with and without natural sunlight to accurately reflect the appearance.
