1862 Union Bank Check, Boston, Massachusetts to Shreve, Stanwood & Co. with a nice example of their embossing. Shreve, Stanwood and Co. were dealers in clocks, silver and plated ware, watches, military goods and jewelry. They were fairly well known and their silver and plate wares can still be found.Punch canceled. Toning spot.
