Item Description
Somewhat hard to see in my images due to the original splashes of red-brown and blue-gray toning, however there is a solid coin underneath the color. And unquestionably original. This is rare as many people, including most dealers, would almost instantly clean such a coin to make it "shiny". A review of any number of coins certified in PCGS or NGC holders at AU-50 to 53 will confirm that this abuse commonly does not matter in terms of whether a coin will certify or not. Oddly enough, it is a 50-50 chance that a coin such as this one would come back "environmental damage" - as I joked to someone once "I guess that's what we used to call toning".
