Item Description
Here is a 1927 D Buffalo Nickel that was submitted to PCGS for restoration and received a grade of VF Detail. As you can see from the photos, this is a bright and shiny nickel and PCGS therefore felt unable to give it a numerical grade, saying that it had been Harshly Cleaned. Thus, except for its wear, the coin appears to be in very good condition. You can also tell from the photos that, like so many other Buffalo Nickels, the front is offset from the reverse by just a couple of degrees, but in the opposite direction of most of them. PCGS indicates that a VF 20 coin would be worth $35 and, in a rare show of unanimity, USACoinbook agrees, saying that if you were to purchase a VF 20 coin from a dealer that you would pay about $35. However, because of its current condition, you can have this restored and graded coin for only $19 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
