Here is a 1928 S Buffalo Nickel that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration and graded as F Detail because of a scratch that starts near where the two feathers converge and travels down the head of the Indian's hair to alongside the braid. While the first photo shows the scratch clearly, it is only because of how the light is reflecting off the coin that it becomes so visible. Under normal conditions, this would not be the case. However, because of the hair detail and because it is alongside, not on, the braid, it is very, very difficult to see with the unaided eye, even if one is looking for it. From the photos, you can see that the front of the coin (like so many Buffalo Nickels) is misaligned with the reverse, but in the opposite direction of most coins. PCGS (July/August 2021) states that an F 12 coin would be worth $12. However, you can have this restored and graded coin for only $8 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
To ensure delivery, this coin will be sent via Certified Mail.
Please note that the system is not structured to adjust the shipping charges unless I was selling several coins under a single listing. (I have not seen anyone on USACoinbook do this.) Thus, if you were to order multiple coins from me (each a different denomination/year/mint/grade/etc), you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I can then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.
If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
