1981 Jefferson Nickel Overstruck on a 1981 Lincoln Cent -
RARE DOUBLE DENOMINATION
An important double denomination error sometimes known as a ‘6-cent’ piece.
The Philadelphia mintmark is intact, and though the upper half of the nickel date is off the flan, the tail of the 9 and loop of the 8 is obvious.
The cent date is faint, but can be located above the dome of Monticello.
