This BU and Proof set of Eisenhower dollars has been upgraded by me, starting from government mint and proof sets. Any one familiar with this series knows that the "BU" coins that came from the mint can be very "baggy", or more technically, have many contact marks. I have searched for years to get this set to it's present grade level. Without "cracking" certified coins out of holders, it would be hard to find better examples. Out of the best caution I can exercise, I have included photos of the obverse of the 1971, the reverse of the 1971-D and the reverse of the 1976 Type 1 because they represent the worst examples that still need upgrading. I believe the rest of the coins to be higher grade than these.
As for price, there have been many "TV" and internet sets sold over the years in the $200-$300 range. But many will contain those lower grade (though truthfully) BU coins. All the higher grade coins are going into "slabs". Here is a set worthy of display in your home or office that you can still improve upon if you desire. With silver moving higher, I don't believe you can assemble a set like this, for this cost. And you're getting them in the Capital Holders, as shown, not in a Dansco album.
