Rare 1754 United States Colonial Currency £4 Shillings Note from North Carolina.
Experts classify this specific 4 Shillings denomination 1754 North Carolina Colonial Currency note as Extremely Scarce, with fewer than 30 Known examples in existence today.
While other Denominations of this note have higher quantities known, the 4 Shillings Denomination is quite unusual and harder to find.
Issue Date: March 9, 1754
This was a "Bills of Credit" issued by the Province of North Carolina to raise funds.
Signers: Samuel Swann, John Swann, Lewis De Rosset.
While thousands were originally printed, very few survived the high circulation and the eventual "redemption" periods where old bills were turned in to be destroyed.
Well circulated with plenty of use over the years, as pictured, back side of this note looks slightly repaired on the center.
