W. M. Bunn For Mayor 1903 Lapel Photo Button. William M. Bunn served in the Civil War with the 72nd PA INF, was wounded and captured, spending time as a POW before being exchanged and medically discharged. He later bought a Philadelphia newspaper and served in various political offices, including several terms in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. In a tradeoff for political support in for his re-election, Chester G. Arthur appointed Bunn as Territorial Governor of Idaho in 1884, a position he held for about 15 months until resigning.
