Original Luster Gorgeous Original Surfaces

Very scarce mid-18th century 1741 Mo MF Mexico 8 Reales, Calico 1458 - PCGS AU Detail

Just back from being graded PCGS AU Details (Scratch). Gorgeous original surfaces on this lustrous example with just the slightest hint of high point rub. While yes indeed, there is a scratch on the obverse above the crown, I was actually quite surprised the scratch details designation was applied to a coin this old from this generation where the grading is typically a lot more liberal.

Absent this old well toned over scratch, the originality and patina on this coin is simply delicious and super pleasing to behold. Wet cement, natural toning with about half of the original mint luster remaining, this coin woud have undoubtedly at least 5'd, if not 8 withou the scratch. Regardless, it is a very appealing and pleasing and quite scarce to rare example.

PCGS has graded only 17 of these in all AU grades combined (3 in 50, 5 in 53, 7 in 55 and 2 in 58). PCGS has graded a mere 6 coins in all mint state grades combined (1 in 61, 3 in 62, and 1 in each 63 and 64)

Your bid is for the exact coin pictured.
