This item is a 1796 Gold Half Eagle $5 Capped Bust To Right Small Eagle Reverse Exonumia Fantasy Coin. It is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as it has 13 stars on the obverse. Standard-issue coins of this date/design had 15 stars on the obverse, and the only 1796 dated coin had a 6 stamped over the 5. The coin is made of copper with gold plating.
