1818 1/2 Crown (6P) Great Britain. 0.925 Silver content. Coin weight = 14.14 g. 32mm diameter.
Medal alignment. Portrait of George III.
and
1829 Mexican One Real Denomination coin.
Silver (0.903). Weight 3.38g. Struck with 'medal' alignment.
These were used for coinage in Colonial America.
Obverse:
National arms (Republic). Eagle facing right with snake in beak, standing on cactus growing out of a rock in the middle of a lake. With laurel and oak wreath at bottom and legend atop.
Lettering: REPUBLICA MEXICANA
Translation: Mexican Republic
Reverse:
Liberty cap radiating light. With value, mint, date, assayer's initials and fineness at bottom.
