1893-S Barber Half Dollar - Obv Full Rim Rev Rim 95% Full - Very Tough Key Date
Here we have a wonderful example of one of the toughest dates in the Barber Half Dollar Series, This 1893-S San Francisco Barber Half Dollar falls in a G+ grade range. This coin has a full strong Obverse Rim and the Reverse Rim isjust about full, I call it 95% full.
Most of these coins at this grade level look awful. Most are scratched up, harshly scrubbed, cleaned or mutilated in myriad manners. And the reverse is ALMOST ALWAYS Much more worn that te obverse. Not the case here! In this example, both sides exhibit almost uniform levels of wear. That alone is very uncommon.
This coin would almost surely fall at the lower level of the 2 Good numeric grades as it almost always will not grade the 2nd level of Good without a full reverse rim.... But it is very close
It is still a VERY choice example at this grade level; likely better than 98% of the other raw coins at this grade level.
Greysheet Bid/Ask for this coin in the lowest G Good is $120/$150 and $145/$190 at the 2nd Good grade level
Opening Bid is at the lowest Good Grade level Greysheet BID.
Good Luck!
The coin in the photos is the exact coin you will receive.
