1905-S Barber Dime NGC AU58 Beautiful Rainbow Toning Everyman Coin - ORIGINAL
1905-S Barber Dime - Beautiful coin with rainbow toning on the reverse graded NGC AU58. Lustrous coin with superb toning. We almost never use the adjective rainbow for toning as it is in my opinion , one of the most overused, mis-used terms in today's online market (Rainbow, as an adjective, is tied with Gem).
However, this is one time I will say this coin is toned in a true rainbow colors and pattern. Superb eye appeal!
This coin, along with many others I am currently listing, comes from an older collection from an affluent suburb west of Boston from a gentleman who has held these coins since at least 1993. This collector passionately collected al throughout the 70s and 80s and only stopped when his family and career obligations trumped his love of numismatics. In the time he collected he amassed a large holding of very eye appealing pieces. Most of what he collected was during pre-third party grading service era. He did submit a few dozen coins himself to PCGS and NGC, and all of his slabs range from first generation PCGS Rattlers and NGC No Line Fattys to the slabs of the early 2000s with no edge view.
True FRESH Material not on the market in at least 25-30 years, unlike the recycled. never ending gambit of coins being shuffled from vest pocket dealer to dealer in a merry go round game of crack and submit to squeeze every drop of value as grades get maxed out.
