Equivalent to a certified AU-58 as far as actual wear. Some minor "rub" visible on the Reverse wreath ribbon and leaves is about it, which could just as easily be due to being mixed in with other coins in a can or box. A significant number of this date were saved as souvenirs in that fashion. I note a couple of marks between AMERICA and the headdress, so I know that it saw some use in circulation. The light yellow-brown color with a sort of "speckled" look is common to the date and is due to the planchets used. These were sourced locally from suppliers that did not have the experience to maintain the QC that was available to Philadelphia, so the alloy mix was suspect. This is the cause of the so-called "woodgrain" pattern found on many early San Francisco Mint Cents.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
