1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent PCGS VF20.
The 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent is one of the most famous US coins in the US Mint's storied history. Just over 400,000 coins struck this first year design had the engravers initials at the bottom of the reverse - VDB, Victor David Brenner.
The initials would be removed a short ways into 1909 leaving this variety a scarce and highly desirable coin. While 484,000 coins struck may not sound super rare, Lincoln Cents are amongst the most popular sets coin collectors aspire to put together. Therefore, these coins are always in high demand, and the cost for acquiring one of these remains steep.
