Item Description
Almost Uncirculated+, close to Choice - I would say equivalent to what would normally certify AU-53. This was recovered from a California hoard and lightly cleaned at some point to remove some toning. The cleaning was exceptionally light, leaving most of the original surface and close to 1/2 of the luster. Some light scuffs, which may actually be from the relatively brief circulation that it saw, however no objectionable hairlines. This has partially retoned as it was placed into a coin album, leaving some patches of attractive natural color, mainly on the Obverse. It retains good eye appeal and while this might not certify if submitted, not what I would really call a "problem" coin.
