Item Description
Certified PCGS Details for what they called "filed rims". "Filed rims" is a term usually used to denote a significant rim bump or a rough area, which is filed down flat. In this case there is NOTHING like that on this coin. There is a small, and I mean SMALL, "dent" at 7:00 on the Obverse rim, which shows no file marks and appears to be a soft contact mark. There are no detectable signs of filing, and the reeding is 100% intact. So I have no idea what PCGS is talking about. Otherwise this appears original and problem free, and I can guarantee that outside this holder 99% of anyone looking at this could not detect a problem. The average dealer certainly could not or would not even mention the possibility. Personally, I would just crack out the coin and put it into an album page - "buy the coin, not the holder". Certainly it represents a good value at the price shown versus the $450+ a PCGS example will commonly bring (or, $575 as a similar coin is currently listed for).
