Item Description
Details of a Choice EF in my opinion, with considerable luster remaining around the rims and in protected areas of Liberty's body, much more than my images show. Also well struck for the date, which commonly shows weakness on the first 2 digits of the date as well as Liberty's central body and left hand. This shows some light scruffiness and "hairlines", which may be signs of a very old, very light cleaning, or could be from circulation. Either way, most likely a grading service would consider it "cleaning", as collectors consider hairlines a sign of cleaning regardless of where they originated. A shame as otherwise this would almost certainly certify XF-45, making it a coin in the $500 range. Tough and undervalued in the typical price guide. For reference, a well known dealer currently has a PCGS VF-30 available at $425, almost double the PCGS Coin Facts value. This should be reasonable for someone who just wants a well detailed coin for an album.
