Item Description
Unquestionably original with moderate steel-gray color overall, some reddish-brown highlights on the higher points of relief. I commonly associate this toning pattern with long slumber in a coin envelope or Whitman-style folder. Fairly bold strike for the date, with a very sharp Obverse, the Reverse die showing a bit of stress lines. Just a touch weak on the Bison's head otherwise better than most I see. Unlike many of the date, including quite a number in certified holders, NO planchet flaws other problems of that sort. No obvious marks other than the one on the Native's neck. This has a shot at CAC based upon the originality and its "crusty" nature, although I would consider it a long shot based upon their persnickety nature (I have not tried it yet).
