1929 Buffalo Nickel B1

This issue is plentiful across all grades through MS 65, though all fall just a bit short of being fully struck. As with so many coins of the 1920s, it seems that budget constraints likely prompted the dies to be set further apart than optimal to extend their lives. The coin illustrated is typical of what passes for a fully struck 1929(P) nickel.

A couple of minor doubled-die obverse varieties are known for this issue, but they draw little attention from collectors.
