1942/1 Over Date Silver Mercury Dime freshly graded PCGS XF Details Cleaned
This coinb has been lightly cleaned but it is still a 1942/1 GENUINE Over Date, one of the most faous and well known 20th century mint errors that is right up there in popularity as the 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Cent.
Strong detail well within an XF Grade Range and not far removed from AU Detail. Save for some light hair lines
This coin is the 2nd of two 1942/1 Mercury Dimes I have submitted recently and it graded exactly as predicted, XF Details Cleaned. Prior to this submissions we sent in three other key date Mercury Dimes a 1921(sold already), a 1921-D in PCGS VF25 listed for sale in a separate auction currently and a very nice 1942/1 over date that graded PCGS VF35. All 3 of the cert numbers for those 3 are sequential 52621175, 52621176, and 52621177. The 1921 has already sold privately and the 1942/1 is not for sale (yet anyway).
