1955 Uncirculated Double Carded Mint Set  with Original Government Packaging

Outer gold envelope is torn and ripped but is obviously the original envelope as mailed to the original purchaser.

Three (3) cards inside hold coins from the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco mint for that year.

Two (2) of each coin, from each mint, are provided in each mint set struck from 1947-1964.

In 1955, Half Dollars were only struck in Philadelphia. Hence, only the Philadelphia card has half dollars.

The Denver card has 2 of each coin for all denominations except for the half dollars since they were not struck in Denver that year

The San Franciso card has only 2 dimes and 2 pennies as those were the only denominations struck in San Francisco in 1955. 1955 was the last year San Francisco would strike business strike coins until 1968.

The coins, especially the 1955-P coins, are heavily toned as was the case with these original mint sets that had a high sulfur content. It's not hard to deduce these coins are as original as the work week is long.

The Denver card paper has become detached from the card board holder on both the top and the bottom and the other two cards paper, while attached, is very brittle and very fragile so I strongly recommend to handle with extreme care to preserve the state it is in!

The US Mint produced Double or Triple Mint Sets from 1947 through 1964. These sets included coins struck from each mint, Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco if any were struck there (pre-1956).

Your bid is for the EXACT 1955 Double Carded Mint Set pictured.
