BASED ON MY RESEARCH, HERE IS WHAT I FOUND. SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS AND MEASUREMENTS. COIN HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED FROM THE PACKAGING. COMES WITH EVERYTHING SEEN IN PHOTOS.
1973 Saint Patrick's Day Commemorative Medal and Cachet Brilliant - Uncirculated Specimen - Original Packaging This 39 year old Coin (or Medal) is approximately 1 1/2 " in diameter and was struck from pure (.999 fine) Irish Silver. It is Proof quality and probably contains one ounce of silver. It remains sealed in its original protective wrap attached to a Irish Postal Cover. The packet includes a "Certificate of Authenticity" from The National Trust of Ireland certifying that this is an authentic Limited Edition Proof Medal. The Medal depicts one of the most dramatic events in the life of Irelands's Patron Saint - The Lighting of Ireland's first Paschal Fire by Saint Patrick in 433 A.D. and subsequent victory over the pagan druids. The Cachet was officially postmarked in Ireland and bears the Saint Patrick's Day cancelation date of March 17, 1973, at Teamhair Breagh, more commonly known as "Tara", the site at which this historic event occurred.
