Interesting History about this $2.00 Note. Thomas Jefferson has been given credit for writing most of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This Note has Thomas Jefferson's picture on the Note and it's dated exactly 200 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The reverse side of the Note is a picture of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! Another interesting point is that next year (2026), will be the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. One more thought is the fact that Thomas Jefferson passed away on the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1826)!
I have acquired several US Currency Notes over the years when buying Coin Collections. Basically, I am a Coin Collector, and never spent much time studying currency.
