1991 Small Date China Peoples Republic 1 oz Silver Panda 10 Yuan PCGS MS69 RARE!
Freshly graded from PCGS, this 1991 1oz Silver People's Republic of China 10 Yuan Panda is the first of 10 coins that were all in the original sheet of 10 in their original government issued packaging. All 10 coins were sent in in the uncut sheet. I have another uncut sheet of 10 that I may eventually one day submit, but for now, they remain untouched.
The 1991 Small Date Silver Panda is by far the scarcer of the two varieties. Only 11 coins have earned the highly coveted MS70 grade, and the current PCGS price guide lists those at a whopping $2400. As the pop is only 11, they don't come to auction very much. The auction record is from May 31, 2018 where one hammered at $2499. Another sold in June 2021 for $950. I can find no other sales of an MS70, PCGS or NGC.
The MS69 price guide lists at $256 and has a population of 170 (it was 160 before all 10 of my coins graded MS69).
Even MS68 coins have been selling at or close to $100. A PCGS MS67 sold in December, 2022 for $122.07.
The most recent MS69 sale I can find is when an NGC MS69 sold for $216.50 in September, 2023. The most recent PCGS MS69 sale I can find was from October 2022 where one sold for $217.50
Each coin weighs 1 Troy oz. of .999 Fine Silver.
