German East Africa 20 Heller 1916 T. This coin catalogs as Y-10a, J-724b, KM-15a. That translates as being the Brass version with the large crown obverse and with one of the L's in heller having the broken curly tip on the left L and an unbroken curly tip on the right L. The design is well centered but the strike is soft giving the coin a false worn appearance. This coin is actually AU-Unc in my opinion and has a soft glowing mint sheen. Looking at the coin's rim one can see that there is no obvious wear. When grading this historic type the rim is often the only way to seperate the worn coins from the weak strikes. The color of this coin has more of a brown bronze than the scan shows. Rest assured that this coin is actually brass. These historic coins were minted using metal salvaged from the German Crusier SMS Koenigsberg. Price includes postage to any US address. Payment by check or money order only.
