Spalirises was an Indo‑Scythian ruler active in the northwestern Indian subcontinent during the mid‑1st century BC, part of the Saka ascendancy that followed the decline of the Indo‑Greek kingdoms. His coinage is bilingual, carrying Greek and Kharosthi legends that proclaim the title “King of Kings,” reflecting regional overlordship. The square bronze units provided local small change for Gandharan and adjacent markets, while the enthroned Zeus type preserves Hellenistic iconography under Saka rule, illustrating cultural and administrative continuity across the Kabul–Gandhara corridor.
