Bible Verses
· Mark 12:41-44: Jesus observed people, including the rich who gave large amounts, placing offerings in the temple treasury. A poor widow then contributed two mites, coins worth very little. Jesus highlighted that her contribution, though small in monetary value, was greater than all the others because she gave everything she had, while others gave from their surplus.
· Luke 21:1-4: Similar to Mark's account, Jesus saw the rich and the poor widow making contributions to the treasury. He stated that her offering of two mites was more significant than the larger gifts from the rich because she gave out of her poverty, giving all she had to live on, unlike the rich who gave from their abundance.
