A very nice double strike showing the date of the cent. Cherry toned BU.

Strictly speaking, this is likely not an error, but was intentionally produced by a rogue US Mint employee. There are many examples of such "errors" that somehow show up on the market. I got this one about 35 years ago from my favorite coin dealer in NYC.
