The Morgan $1 is the United States silver dollar coin minted from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921. Its designer was George T. Morgan, United States Mint Assistant Engraver. The obverse depicts a profile representing Liberty, as modeled by Anna Willess Williams, and the reverse depicts an eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch.
It is alloyed as 90% silver and 10% copper, containing 0.7734 Troy ounces of pure silver, weighs 26.73 g, has a diameter of 1.5 inches (38.1 mm), and a thickness of 2.4 mm with a reeded edge.
It was popular in its day and remains a favorite of collectors.
