1919-S (Semi Key Date) Buffalo Nickel Extra Fine-40

This 1919-S Semi Key Date Buffalo Nickel is a very beautiful XF-40 (Extra Fine-40) with a light gray tone to the original patina. The obverse has a very sharp strike. The reverse was struck from an eroded die which is obvious even when viewing this side of the coin first from the "swelling" look you see around "United States" and the bison's rear right leg. 1919-S actually is the first date in the series where reverse details are plauged by eroded dies. In fact full strikes are unknown on 19-S and just over one third of the entire mintage shows a weak strike and then just short of another half will show a typical strike. This is a great coin for a high circulated date set of Buffalo Nickels. Act now as this is best 1919-S that I have seen in a long time.
