1941-S Small S Jefferson Nickel MS-65 (GEM) Strong Strike

This is a very difficult date to find with a nice Strong Strike. This coin even shows all 5 steps at the left third of Monticello. As with the 1940-S the year before, San Francisco usually struck these nickels with overused worn mushy dies. Although San Francisco's quality would dramatically improve for the wartime dates of 1942-45, these two years (1940 & 1941) foreshadowed a serious quality issue that progressively became worse during the late 1940s and hit the nadir rock bottom in 1953 and 1954.
