Offered here for the collector is a 1981-P Jefferson Nickel error coin.

The die that struck this nickel was insufficiently cleaned. It's a Struck Through Grease error. It's a common error, but sometimes leaves interesting effects on coins. Much of the word Monticello is unreadable. If you'd like it for your collection, I'll send it out within one business day.
