Offered here for the collector is a 2000-P Roosevelt Dime with a Collar Clash Error.

Every year many dies are used to strike each coin denomination. The die that struck this coin had previously been misaligned and struck the retaining collar that holds the planchets as they are struck into coins. This altered the die, causing it to leave partial ridges on the face of the rims of the coins it struck thereafter. In the case of this die, it produced interesting coins desired by collectors.
