What this coin looks like (obverse, reverse, mint mark location, special features, etc.):
1829/7 Capped Bust Half Dollar - 9 Over 7 Overdate Error

One major variety is the 1829/7 Capped Bust Half Dollar with the 9 Over 7 Overdate. This coin features an 1829 date struck over an 1827 date on the die - which resulted in coins with an underlying "7" within and around the "9" in the date. Part of the 7 can be seen near the bottom portion of the 9. The other numbers are also repunched as well and parts of the first strike can be seen around the second strike of the numbers. The underlying "1" can be seen near the top of the primary "1". A very subtle doubling of the "8" can also be seen as well as part of the underlying "2" being doubled just below the primary "2". These features are depicted by the arrows in the example image above.
