This coin, seems to me, should be graded 'About Uncirculated' (AU). Liberty's facial features and hair are well defined. Every feather on the reverse eagle is very clear and well defined. All lettering on both sides show very little wear. Fantastic condition for a two hundred year old coin.

Both coins are really great condition, especially the 1876 coin as EVERY feather on the reverse eagle is very distinct. If it wasn't for the (natural) discoloration, It could qualify for AU-58 (Very Choice About Uncirculated). The eagle feathers on the 1856 are not quite as distinct, showing a little wear.
I am very, very pleased with both coins.
